Atomia adds support for hybrid cloud hosting with AWS and Azure

Atomia’s hosting software now lets hosting providers resell VPS using the global cloud infrastructure of Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

Västerås, Sweden — Atomia, a hosting software company based in Sweden, has just released a new version of its cloud hosting software platform. Hosting providers using Atomia can now resell virtual machines from public clouds such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. End users can manage these virtual machines from within the Atomia hosting control panel like any other VPS.

This complements Atomia’s existing VPS hosting solution, which runs on top of OpenStack. With the ability to also use public clouds, hosting companies can offer hybrid cloud hosting, combining VPS hosting on their own infrastructure with the global network of data centers that come with something like Azure.

“You can think of it as getting instant global infrastructure,” says Magnus Hult, CEO of Atomia. “That’s really the beauty of the hybrid cloud approach to hosting. We think this will enable our customers, mostly hosting companies and telcos, to offer some truly exciting services to their end users.”

Other highlights in the latest release of the Atomia Cloud Hosting Platform (which is the full name of the product) include support for CloudLinux OS, an operating system with features that help shared hosting providers get more out of their web servers. Atomia has also added full support for Let’s Encrypt, giving hosting providers automatic free SSL certificates for all their websites.

Once installed on a customer’s hardware, Atomia’s product acts as a complete solution for selling and managing hosting services such as shared hosting and VPS hosting.
